Role Description
This is a full-time for a Senior Heat Exchanger Design Engineer based in Pengerang, with some work-from-home flexibility. The engineer will be responsible for designing and developing heat exchangers and related mechanical systems, preparing detailed drawings and specifications, and ensuring designs align with international codes and client requirements. Responsibilities include conducting technical reviews, performing calculations and simulations, collaborating with cross-functional teams, overseeing projects, and troubleshooting design issues during installation and operation.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Design Engineering of various types of Heat Exchangers (shell and tube heat exchanger, air cooled heat exchanger, condenser and reboiler) based on the client provided process data/details
- Well versed with PV Elite or Compress for mechanical design.
- Responsibility involves review of client process details, P&ID study, Process/thermal design of heat exchangers using HTRI software, optimization of heat exchangers during bid stage. Selection of heat exchangers materials (tubes, tubesheets, baffles etc), tube layouts selection, including process calculations.
- Well versed on major industry Codes and Standards (e.g., TEMA, ASME, API, etc.) applicable to Pressure Equipment and Heat Exchangers.
- Proven project management, problem-solving, and collaborative skills
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field
- 10+ years of relevant engineering experience in heat exchanger design and fabrication is a compulsory.
- Experienced working in a high paced environment.
