We are currently seeking a Senior Instrument Designer/ Instrument Designer to join our team based in Kuala Lumpur.

Successful candidates will be offered Fixed Term Contract.

About us:

Assist the Lead Designer or Lead Engineer in ensuring good quality design outputs, as per the relevant procedures.

Ensure correct design staffing level and capability of the drafting team.

Ensure effective use of available resources.

Responsible for Instrumentation and Telecom design deliverables.

Produce the agreed deliverables as per the project requirement and schedules in cost effective manner.

Prepare specification/Technical Bid Evaluation and clarification for bulk materials.

Monitor and ensure that any drawings designed by designer and generated by the drafters is properly established to reflect all required design details and to good engineering practices.

Retain all records of design deliverables sketches, drafts, reviews, revisions for audit and traceability purpose.

Assist in proposal preparation and cost estimation for bulk material.

Maintain quality, discipline and morale of the Designers and Draftsman.

Be available for assignment as Lead Designer.

Be available for site assignment if required.

During contract execution

Main Roles and Responsibilities

Prepares, updates and checks specifications for detailed engineering.

Ensures contractual technical specifications (for Bulk Materials) are met by the Vendors

Adheres to the committed man/hours and budget.

Ensures timely internal and external reporting on engineering activities and progress to the Lead.

Meets quality objectives of the project.

Remain accountable and assume responsibility to all works and activities done

Continuously develop and grow technical knowhow as well as familiarize with Design Codes and Standards

Carry out onshore and offshore site visits as required

Prepare site survey check lists and reports and other reports as required

About You

MUST HAVE:

Possess Diploma in Instrumentation/Electronic/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Possess at least minimum 7 years working experience of Instrumentation and Control engineering design experiences of which 4 years in Oil and Gas industry

Knowledge in offshore platform and onshore Instrumentation and Control system

Good interpersonal skills, good team player and willing to learn and grow with the organization

Good communication skills both oral and written

Possess analytical skills, problem solving skills and initiative

Able to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks.

GOOD TO HAVE

Experience in 3D modelling or SPI wiring.

2 year or more working experience (related to Instrumentation and Control) with Fabrication yard or Construction site

Good awareness on HSE and HFE
