Job Description

Position Overview

The Senior IT Executive is responsible for overseeing daily IT operations, providing advanced technical support, and ensuring optimal performance of the organization's IT systems. This role includes supporting infrastructure management, strengthening cybersecurity measures, assisting in IT project execution, and providing guidance to junior IT team members.

Key Responsibilities (Summary)

1. Technical Support & Troubleshooting

  • Deliver Level 2/3 support for hardware, software, network, and system issues.
  • Handle escalated IT tickets and ensure timely resolution.
  • Diagnose root causes of recurring issues and implement long-term solutions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for troubleshooting and support procedures.
  • Coordinate with vendors for specialized technical support.

2. IT Infrastructure Maintenance

  • Manage and maintain servers, networks, storage, and core IT infrastructure.
  • Perform installation, configuration, and system upgrades.
  • Monitor system and network performance and apply optimization measures.
  • Track and manage IT hardware and software assets.

3. Security & Compliance

  • Support implementation of cybersecurity policies and best practices.
  • Monitor and respond to security threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents.
  • Assist in managing firewalls, antivirus tools, backups, and disaster recovery plans.

4. Team Leadership & Mentoring

  • Provide guidance, technical direction, and support to IT support staff.
  • Oversee daily task allocation and ensure timely completion of support activities.
  • Mentor junior team members and support skill development and training.
  • Act as the escalation point within the IT team for complex issues.

5. IT Projects & Continuous Improvement

  • Assist in planning and executing IT projects (deployments, migrations, upgrades).
  • Contribute to IT documentation, SOPs, and process improvements.
  • Participate in capacity planning and recommend technology enhancements.
  • Support operations involving cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Required Skills

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux servers and virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V).
  • Advanced networking skills (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, Wi-Fi).
  • Experience with firewalls (Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto).
  • Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • Hands-on experience with Active Directory, M365, or Google Workspace.
  • Familiarity with backup systems, disaster recovery, and endpoint management.
  • Knowledge of ITIL practices (incident, problem, change management).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
  • At least 58 years of relevant IT experience, with 3 years exposure to team-leading or mentorship.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Clear communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle critical issues efficiently.
  • Good planning and organizational skills.
