We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Java Developer with 10+ years of hands-on experience building enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, relational databases, and cloud-native engineering practices. The ideal candidate will have practical experience with an AI-first development approach and will use tools such as Cursor IDE and GitHub Copilot to improve coding, testing, documentation, troubleshooting, and delivery outcomes. This role requires strong technical leadership, sound judgment, accountability, collaboration, and a positive, solution-oriented attitude.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and support enterprise-grade applications using Java 21+, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
• Create scalable, secure, resilient, and maintainable backend services and integrations.
• Lead technical design discussions, contribute to architecture decisions, and translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Build and optimize data-access components using JDBC, SQL, JPA/Hibernate, stored procedures, and database performance-tuning techniques.
• Work extensively with Oracle databases, including schema objects, complex SQL queries, joins, indexes, transactions, query plans, and performance optimization.
• Apply secure coding practices, including authentication, authorization, input validation, secrets management, and mitigation of OWASP Top 10 risks.
• Develop unit, integration, and component tests using JUnit, Mockito, and related frameworks.
• Participate in code reviews, CI/CD implementation, production troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, observability, and continuous improvement.
•  Mentor developers, promote engineering standards, and collaborate with architects, product owners, QA, DevOps, security teams, and business stakeholders.
• Work flexibly across business hours when required to support releases, production issues, stakeholder meetings, and distributed teams, in accordance with organizational policies.

AI-First Engineering Expectations

• Demonstrated hands-on use of Cursor IDE, GitHub Copilot, or comparable approved AI-assisted development tools.
•  Use AI responsibly for code generation, refactoring, unit-test creation, documentation, debugging, code review support, performance analysis, and knowledge discovery.
• Validate AI-generated output for functional accuracy, security, privacy, licensing, maintainability, and alignment with organizational coding standards.
• Create effective prompts and reusable AI-assisted workflows that improve developer productivity without compromising engineering quality.
• Understand foundational AI concepts, including generative AI, large language models, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, and AI agents.
• Follow enterprise AI governance, intellectual-property, security, and confidential-data handling requirements.
• Coach team members on safe, practical, and measurable adoption of AI across the software development lifecycle.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the U.S. healthcare domain, such as payer, provider, claims, enrollment, eligibility, benefits, care management, or healthcare data integrations.
• Understanding of healthcare interoperability, privacy, security, and regulatory expectations relevant to the assigned solution.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Exposure to messaging and integration technologies such as Kafka, MQ, or API management platforms.
• Knowledge of generative AI solution patterns, RAG, vector databases, model evaluation, and AI governance.
• Relevant cloud, Java, architecture, security, or AI certifications.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
