Responsibilities
- To provide legal advice on various legal matters (such as securities laws, privacy laws, intellectual property laws and other laws and regulations) relevant to the daily operations of the business
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements including data center services agreements, colocation contracts, power purchase agreements, interconnection agreements, and SLAs with enterprise clients and hyperscale operators
- Lead contract negotiations with major telecommunications carriers, cloud service providers, and infrastructure vendors
- Conduct and manage comprehensive legal due diligence for M&A transactions, joint ventures, and strategic investments, with particular expertise in data center assets, real estate holdings, and telecommunications infrastructure
- Structure and negotiate share purchase agreements, joint venture agreements, asset acquisitions, and strategic partnership arrangements
- Coordinate cross-border transactions and multi-jurisdictional regulatory approvals
- Lead real estate legal matters including site acquisitions, ground leases, build-to-suit agreements, and property development contracts for mission-critical infrastructure
- Navigate zoning, permitting, environmental compliance, and land use matters for data center developments
- Lead negotiations with internal stakeholders (C-suite, board, business units) and external parties (investors, partners, regulators, customers)
- Manage relationships with external counsel across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring cost-effective and strategic legal support
- An LLB degree or above from a reputable university in a common law jurisdiction
- Qualified to practice law in Singapore / Malaysia. Qualifications or experience practicing in other common law jurisdictions is a strong plus
- At least 8 years of experience in a major international/Singapore top tier law firm
- Demonstrated expertise in data center, telecommunications, or technology infrastructure sectors strongly preferred
- Native English speaker with strong command of MS Office software applications (e.g., Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
- Excellent English drafting skills and strong negotiation skills
