Job Description
- Play a key role in supporting the company's ongoing commercial deal pursuits and managing general legal matters across the Southeast Asia region, with occasional involvement in India-related activities
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and group legal policies
- Advise on, draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including software and services agreements, maintenance and consultancy contracts, global framework agreements, procurement and subcontractor agreements, strategic alliance agreements, and other inbound commercial contracts
- Act as the primary legal point of contact for internal business stakeholders and collaborate closely with members of the legal department
- Lead and support special projects such as developing and enhancing standard contract templates, improving legal policies and processes, optimizing contract management workflows, and educating internal teams to ensure consistent application of relevant policies
- Coordinate with internal subject-matter experts, external counsel, and relevant authorities as required
The Successful Applicant
A successful Senior Legal Counsel / Legal Counsel (Regional) should have:
- At least six years of post-qualification legal experience, gained within a leading law firm and/or an in-house legal function
- Communicate effectively in spoken and written English; proficiency in Malay / Bahasa Indonesia is a plus
- Bring experience or exposure to TMT matters, including software licensing and maintenance-related services
- Demonstrate sound drafting and negotiation capabilities, with hands-on experience managing standard commercial contracts
- Perform well in a high-pressure, fast-moving environment, balancing multiple priorities
- Are willing to undertake travel as required to support business needs
