About the role
We are now looking for a professional to join our Regional Business Strategy and Insights department for Viu, a leading pan-regional OTT video service with presence across Asia, the Middle East, and South Africa.
As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer on the Data Science and Engineering team, you will build and scale machine learning systems that power user engagement, personalization, and content discovery across our OTT streaming platform. You will work on high-impact projects that enhance product, content, and marketing decisions across the organization. You will design end-to-end ML pipelines, deploy models to production at scale. This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in high-scale consumer tech environments and are passionate about applying ML to impact millions of users. In this regional role, you will work closely with cross-functional partners across markets and contribute to Viu's data transformation journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Create scalable machine learning models to support a variety of product, user, and business use cases.
- Adapt end-to-end analytics workflows: identify, collect, clean, and process data, build predictive models, and present actionable insights.
- Implement CI/CD practices to ensure model reproducibility, traceability, and scalability.
- Improve ML observability, model evaluations, monitoring, and debugging tools to ensure reliability of deployed models.
- Collaborate with team members and cross-functional partners to operationalize models and integrate them seamlessly into production workflows.
- Translate ambiguous business problems into measurable ML solutions.
- Serve as a key thought partner for stakeholders regarding machine learning algorithms, system architectures, and best practices.
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or related field.
- 5+ years of full-time work experience in one or more relevant machine-learning roles
- Strong proficiency in Python and ML libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CICD tools
- Solid understanding of distributed computing, data pipelines, and microservices.
- Proven ability to design, deploy, and maintain production-scale ML systems.
- Experience with large-scale systems, streaming data platforms, and real-time inference.
- Experience with LLMs, foundation models, or retrieval systems.
- Familiarity with data engineering tools (Spark, BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks).
- Domain experience in the digital marketing, e-commerce, CRM, MarTech or AdTech fields is preferred
- Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
