Job Description

Role Description The Senior Manager – Business Development (Strategic Partnerships) is a full-time, on-site role based at Wisma Genting, Kuala Lumpur, reporting to the Vice President – Business Development.

The role is responsible for identifying, evaluating and developing strategic partnerships and investment opportunities that support Genting Property's current and future developments. This includes engaging technology partners, investors, institutions and other stakeholders to strengthen township ecosystems and drive long-term business growth.

Key responsibilities include assessing strategic fit and commercial viability, preparing business proposals and management presentations, leading partnership discussions, and structuring commercial arrangements. The role also involves maintaining relationships with government agencies and business partners, representing the company at industry engagements, and coordinating with internal teams to implement approved initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Strategic Growth

  • Identify, evaluate, and pursue strategic ecosystem, investment, and partnership opportunities in property development, real estate investments, and related industries.
  • Proactively identify, cultivate, and engage potential tech partners, investors, institutions, universities, and such other catalysts to strengthen the township ecosystem and support long-term growth objectives.

Joint Ventures & Strategic Partnerships

  • Lead discussions and negotiations with potential partners, investors, and stakeholders.
  • Structure commercial arrangements and partnership frameworks that align with business objectives.

Project Evaluation & Investment Analysis

  • Assess strategic fit, ecosystem impact, and commercial viability before proposing management recommendations.
  • Prepare presentations and concept papers for Senior Management.

Stakeholder Management

  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with government agencies, consultants, investors, and business partners.
  • Represent the company in industry events, networking engagements, and business forums.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure alignment and successful execution of approved initiatives.
Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Property Development, Real Estate, International Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8–12 years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, investment promotion, ecosystem development, stakeholder engagement, or related career.
  • Proven track record in developing high-value strategic partnerships, managing key stakeholder relationships, attracting investments, securing collaborations, or driving business growth initiatives.
  • Experience engaging with government agencies, industry associations, multinational corporations, universities, research institutions, investors, or technology companies is highly desirable.
  • Strong presentation, communication and networking skills, with the ability to represent the company confidently at senior management, government, investor and industry engagements.
  • Fluent in both English and Chinese languages.

Travel Requirement

  • Frequent travel is required to meet potential business partners, investors, government agencies, and project stakeholders across Malaysia and overseas where necessary.
