Job Description

Purpose Statement:

This position offers the unique opportunity to own and optimize high-volume manufacturing equipment and processes that drive medical device output while ensuring safety, quality, and cost efficiency. You will contribute to technology scaling, process improvements, and the global transfer of manufacturing capabilities. Your work will directly impact Plexus's ability to innovate and maintain its leadership in EMS, providing a dynamic environment to grow technical expertise and shape the future of manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate capital asset forecasts and equipment, including upgrade and
  • replacement plans for production equipment and facilities systems.
  • Own and optimize high-volume manufacturing equipment and processes to ensure the precision and quality of production lines.
  • Conduct tests and measurements to control critical dimensions and minimize defects in the manufacturing process.
  • Coordinate the implementation of Engineering metrics and standardization in line with SOPs, WIs, and SFTs.
  • Responsible for the successful deployment of global standards to streamline processes and standardize best practices at the site and full compliance with machine maintenance protocols, ensuring each individual is empowered to deliver on their responsibilities with full accountability
  • Recommend and implement process modifications to improve operational efficiencies, quality, and cost performance.
  • Build high-volume manufacturing capacity to showcase technology capabilities and transfer processes to global manufacturing sites.
  • Execute equipment maintenance, repairs, and continuous improvement activities to meet safety, quality, productivity, and yield goals.
  • Develop excursion prevention systems and detect discrepant material or activities in equipment and processes.
  • Manage equipment installation, conversion, and qualification during factory ramps to ensure on-schedule and safe operations that meet quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external suppliers to drive process development and optimization aligned with high-volume production nodes.
  • Facilitate the transfer of technology to other manufacturing sites through training, auditing, and ensuring process consistency.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, EE Engineering, or a related field.
  • 12- 15 yrs working experience in face pace manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor assembly equipment and processes.
  • Familiarity with design of experiments (DOE) principles and failure modes/effects analysis (FMEA).
  • Hands-on experience in equipment management, maintenance, and improvement processes.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with peers, engineering teams, and customers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • SQL pathfinder, Power BI or any relevant scripting skills will be an added advantage.
  • Flexibility to handle multi-task operations and adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
  • Self-starter with proven ability to manage own activities and support wider team initiatives.
  • Experience in process engineering or new product proliferation.
