Job Description

Morgan Philips is exclusively partnered with a US-based Fortune 500 Co in hiring their GM for a 2,000-3000-manpower factory in Northern Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities

  • The General Manager will oversee the overall performance of the facility, including production, engineering, materials, quality, maintenance, human resources, customer service, and financial outcomes.
  • Responsibilities include coordinating production priorities and schedules, optimizing the use of materials, equipment, and labor, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • The role will ensure manufacturing processes are efficient and productive, maintain accurate inventory levels, and lead quality initiatives to guarantee defect‑free products and compliance with ISO standards.
  • The General Manager will also manage facility and equipment maintenance, develop preventive maintenance programs, and support improvement projects.
  • Leadership responsibilities include building and motivating a diverse team, fostering a positive organizational culture, and implementing lean manufacturing principles such as 5S and waste reduction.
  • Additionally, the role involves managing customer order processing and service, overseeing budget and P&L performance, and ensuring strategic and tactical plans are executed to achieve company objectives.

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • 10+ years of manufacturing leadership in large facilities (1,000++ employees).
  • Strong background in high‑mix, low‑volume manufacturing environments.
  • Proven track record in continuous improvement and process optimization.
  • Experience with data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Power BI).
  • Success working in matrix organizations.
  • Excellent people management, communication, and cross‑functional skills.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to manage P&L responsibilities and deliver results under pressure.
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, or related field.
  • Advanced Excel skills (Macros, Pivot Tables, Dashboards).
