Senior Manager, Legal Contract Manager

What You'll Do:

The Contract Manager will be responsible for owning the end-to-end contract lifecycle, from intake and drafting through to execution, renewal, and expiry. It is a hands-on role which requires the Contract Manager to work independently in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating the Company's contracts, and to ensure that all contractual processes are managed efficiently and in compliance with the Company's policies. The Contract Manager will be required to work closely with internal stakeholders across procurement, finance, technology, and business teams to support the Company's operational needs.

Contract Lifecycle Management

• Own and manage the full contract lifecycle for vendor, procurement, IT, SaaS, and outsourcing agreements — from initial intake and scoping through to execution, ongoing compliance, renewal, and close-out.
• Track key contractual milestones, deliverables, renewal dates, and expiry deadlines; proactively alert relevant stakeholders and initiate renewal or termination processes as required.

Drafting, Review & Negotiation

• Draft, review, and negotiate agreements including but not limited to vendor, procurement, IT, SaaS, and outsourcing agreements independently, ensuring alignment with the Company's commercial objectives and risk appetite.
• Develop and maintain standardised contract templates, clause libraries, and playbooks for routine agreements.

Process & Stakeholder Management

• Coordinate the contract approval and execution workflow, including liaising with internal stakeholders for sign-off and ensuring proper authorisation in accordance with the Company's delegation of authority.
• Act as the primary point of contact for business units on related contracts.
• Drive continuous improvement of contract processes, turnaround times, and operational efficiency within the Legal Division.
• Stay updated on developments in procurement practices, data protection requirements, and regulatory standards relevant to the fintech and financial services sectors.

Post-execution of Contract

• Monitor post-execution compliance with contractual obligations including submission or completion of key dates achievement
• Lead dispute resolution or variation requests where required
• Support project team in managing contracts
• Leading and analysing issues in contractual and non-contractual correspondences and responding to them in a timely manner
• Advising on contract-related issues and resolution for the project
• Leading and advising business units and stakeholders in contractually defending claims for variation, extension of time and/or other additional costs
• Formulate and provide general strategic advice/recommendation to address contract related risks/opportunities

Execute any other ad-hoc tasks assigned in relation to the day-to-day running of the Legal Division.

Role Requirements:

Qualification:

• Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB or equivalent)
• Admission to the Malaysian Bar (or equivalent jurisdiction) is an added advantage

Experience:

• Minimum 8 years working experience in contract management, commercial drafting, whether in a law firm, in-house legal team, or dedicated contracts function.
• Demonstrated experience managing a high-volume portfolio of vendor, IT, SaaS, or outsourcing contracts through their full lifecycle.
• Experience in the fintech, banking, or financial services industry is an added advantage.

Skills:

• Strong commercial contract drafting and negotiation skills, with particular expertise in commercial and technology agreements
• Proven ability to manage and prioritise a large and diverse contract portfolio independently
• Working knowledge of contract management processes, vendor management frameworks, and data protection requirements
• Good understanding of operational and business processes, with the ability to translate commercial requirements into clear contractual terms
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
• Proficiency with contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools or document management systems is an added advantage
