Job Description

Job Title: Senior Manager, Legal

Department: President's Office

Reporting To

  • Direct: President
  • Functional: Group CEO (GCEO)

Salary Budget: RM 10,000 RM 15,000 (No negotiation beyond RM15,000)

Age Group: 30 40

Nationality: Malaysian

Preferred Candidate: Male, Chinese (Ability to speak, read, and write Mandarin & Bahasa Malaysia required)

  • Job Purpose To support the President's Office by providing legal advisory, drafting, and strategic legal guidance impacting business operations, group initiatives, and foundation matters, ensuring legal compliance and protection of organizational interests.
  • Principal Accountabilities & Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advisory on business activities to protect organizational rights and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Manage dispute resolution, litigation, arbitration matters with external counsel, and oversee legal proceedings.
  • Review, draft, negotiate, and manage legal documentation for commercial transactions (NDAs, tenancy agreements, SPA, MOUs, LOA, etc.).
  • Analyze commercial, corporate, and litigation-related legal matters and recommend risk-mitigating solutions.
  • Manage engagements with external counsel in Malaysia and regional jurisdictions (Thailand, Vietnam, etc.).
  • Collaborate with Group Legal and internal stakeholders on property development agreements and other business projects.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on matters involving applicable laws and regulatory changes.
  • Address ad-hoc legal issues and assignments arising from time to time.

Qualification

  • Bachelor of Law (LLB) or equivalent.

Job Requirements

  • 1015 years post-qualification experience in legal practice or large corporate environment.
  • Strong exposure to corporate, litigation, commercial, banking, property, and listing-related legal matters.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation such as Companies Act 2016, PDPA 2010, and other regulatory frameworks.
  • Independent, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical, drafting, and communication skills with ability to propose legally sound commercial solutions.
  • Proven stakeholder management and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and able to perform under pressure.
  • Languages: English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin required; Hokkien is an added advantage.

Additional Details

  • This position requires full-time work at the office location.
  • Outstation travel may be required based on business needs.
