Job ResponsibilitiesLead and drive merchandising performance across multiple categories, ensuring achievement of sales, margin, and profitability targets
Develop and execute category and commercial strategies aligned with overall business objectives
Identify and unlock growth opportunities across assortment, pricing, promotions, and channels
Oversee full category portfolio performance, including monitoring KPIs and driving corrective actions
Lead high-level supplier negotiations covering cost, rebates, and trade funding to maximise commercial value
Build and manage strategic supplier partnerships and joint business plans (JBP)
Provide direction on SKU strategy, including product expansion, rationalisation, and lifecycle management
Oversee new product development (NPD) pipeline and listing strategy
Lead development and execution of promotion strategies and commercial calendar
Monitor and optimise promotion effectiveness and ROI
Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Marketing, E-Commerce, and Supply Chain teams to ensure strong execution
Drive improvements in assortment productivity, inventory efficiency, and overall category performance
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing merchandising team
Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and data-driven decision making
Job Requirement8'12+ years of experience in merchandising, category management, or commercial roles within retail or FMCG
Proven track record in managing multiple categories and leading teams
Strong commercial acumen with hands-on experience in P&L management
Demonstrated expertise in supplier negotiation and partnership management
Strong analytical capability with the ability to translate data into strategic decisions
Experience working in an omnichannel environment (retail and e-commerce)
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment
Strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset and high ownership mentality
