OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
- To provide technical support for the Production Chemicals business through formulation development, laboratory testing, bottle testing, product qualification, troubleshooting, and field trial support.
- The Chemist/Senior Chemist will play a key role in developing and optimizing chemical treatment programs for oil and gas production operations.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES
- Plan, execute, and supervise laboratory testing programs. Conduct bottle tests, emulsion studies, compatibility testing, water treatment evaluations, corrosion studies, and product performance assessments.
- Develop and optimize formulations for production chemicals
- Interpret laboratory and field data and prepare technical recommendations.
- Support field trials and product implementation activities.
- Investigate customer operational problems and recommend chemical solutions.
- Assist in troubleshooting production, separation, corrosion, scaling, and water treatment issues.
- Prepare technical reports and treatment recommendations.
- Identify alternative raw materials and suppliers.
- Maintain laboratory quality systems and testing procedures.
- Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and laboratory best practices.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and calibration records.
- Participate in customer meetings when technical support is required.
- Provide technical presentations and training to customers and internal teams.
KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE JOB
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in production chemicals for the oil and gas industry.
- Must have worked with a company engaged in the formulation, supply, and application of production chemicals.
- Experience supporting offshore and onshore production operations preferred.
- Strong practical knowledge of nature and application of various production chemicals.
- Bottle testing methodologies.
- Laboratory analytical techniques.
- Conducting field trial support.
