Position overview
To lead and manage the safety and security functions across Taylor's Assets portfolio. This position is accountable for strategic planning, governance, compliance, risk mitigation, crisis management, and continuous improvement in safety and security practices aligned with legal standards and Taylor's Group objectives
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership
Develop and implement the overall safety and security strategy for Taylor's Assets.
Align safety and security plans with organizational priorities, legal compliance, and best practice.
Act as a key advisor to leadership on all safety and security matters.
2. Operational Oversight
Manage day to day safety and security operations, including physical security, health and safety systems, emergency preparedness, and response.
Ensure proper safeguarding of all personnel, students, properties, and assets.
Lead Taylor's Assets safety and security teams, ensuring cohesive policy implementation across entities.
3. Governance & Compliance
Maintain compliance with local laws, regulations, and internal policies related to safety, fire, and occupational health.
Oversee internal audits, inspections, and corrective action plans.
Prepare and submit regulatory reports and incident summaries as required.
4. Risk Management & Incident Response
Lead risk assessments and establish mitigation plans.
Serve as a key member of the crisis management team and oversee emergency preparedness planning.
Review and approve incident investigations, root cause analysis, and improvement actions.
5. Stakeholder Engagement & Vendor Management
Liaise with government agencies, regulatory authorities, law enforcement, and external auditors.
Manage third-party vendors and service providers to ensure quality and contract compliance.
6. Talent Development
Mentor and coach the safety and security team, including direct reports from Taylor's Residence.
Ensure team members receive continuous training and development.
Drive a culture of accountability, safety awareness, and proactive risk mitigation.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in safety & security management, EHSS, or a related field.
Professional certification (e.g., OSH, CPP, CSM, etc.) is highly preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in safety and security management.
Experience managing multiple sites or educational facilities is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
Strong leadership and crisis management capabilities.
In-depth knowledge of Malaysian safety and security legislation and international best practices.
Proven ability to engage senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional initiatives.
Analytical, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions
Office based environment with limited local travel required.
Flexible work space within Lakeside Campus.
