Job Description
The Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of complex manufacturing processes for semiconductor capital equipment. This role ensures that sophisticated mechanical and electrical systems are manufactured with maximum efficiency, high yield, and uncompromising quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement new manufacturing processes, application software, and tooling for complex capital equipment machines.
- Lead initiatives to provide improved yield, productivity, and reduced cycle times through systematic analysis and technical innovation.
- Implement plans and lead the assessment of machine and process capability using Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical methods to ensure maximum throughput and cost-efficiency.
- Lead the disciplined root-cause analysis for multistage product or process failures that affect factory operations.
- Provide high-level feedback to product designers on the suitability of designs for manufacturability (DFM), ensuring products are optimized for assembly from the prototype stage.
- Create and manage comprehensive test procedures, assembly instructions, and implementation processes for new product introductions (NPI).
- Ensure all manufacturing and test equipment is properly calibrated, certified, and compliant with corresponding procedures and quality standards.
- Provide advanced technical training to production personnel and mentor junior process engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering; a Diploma with over 5 years of specialized experience may be considered.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in manufacturing engineering within the semiconductor or heavy capital equipment industry.
- Solid knowledge of electronics, analog, power, and digital systems.
- Expertise in Design of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Familiarity with High Voltage and Insulation testing protocols.
- Proficiency in CAD software and tool/fixture design.
- Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and global technical standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for data-driven reporting.
