The Role in a Nutshell

We are looking for a strategist to solve the top challenges facing our Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) partners. Be it overtourism or stagnant destination growth, you will be the brain bridging Klook's capability with DMO's challenges. You don't just receive briefs; you interrogate them. You investigate. You will dive deep into the data and facts to identify the real issues and engineer creative solutions that our DMO partners haven't yet imagined. Your role begins with a diagnostic mindset and only ends when the campaign has been executed, evaluated, and fine-tuned to perfection, ensuring our impact is as measurable as it is meaningful.

What You'll Do

  • Strategic Problem Solving
  • Identify Root Issues: Act as the lead strategist for DMO partnerships. Instead of just following a brief, you analyze data and market facts to understand the real challenges—like overtourism or low visitor spending.
  • Create Custom Solutions: Build marketing plans that actually solve those problems. You'll design creative ways to use Klook's platform to drive traffic to new regions or during off-peak seasons.
  • Data-Backed Pitching: Work with the sales team to present clear, data-driven proposals to DMOs. You will show them exactly how Klook can help meet their specific tourism goals.
  • Consumer Insights & Research
  • Uncover the Why: Lead the effort to understand traveler behavior in order to engineer the great solution. Other than desktop research, you will design and oversee consumer research, such as surveys, interviews, or focus groups, to uncover the insights that drive better marketing decisions.
  • Insight-Driven Strategy: Use these research findings to identify the real pain points of travelers, ensuring our campaigns speak directly to their needs and motivations.
  • Campaign Management & Optimization
  • Full Project Ownership: Lead the execution of all DMO campaigns from start to finish. You are the final check to ensure every link, image, and ad is 100% correct before it goes live.
  • Optimization & Evaluation: Your job isn't done once the campaign launches. You will track performance, find what isn't working, and fine-tune the strategy to get the best possible results.
  • Timeline & Resources: Manage the master calendar and team workload. You ensure that social, content, and local teams stay on track so we never miss a deadline for our partners.
  • Pitch Support & Strategic Storytelling
  • Sales Partnership: Work side-by-side with the Sales team to win high-value DMO pitching. You will be the subject matter expert who brings the strategy to life during the pitch.
  • Data-Driven Narratives: You don't just present charts; you tell a story. You will analyze data, both internal and external, do desktop research, to build a compelling case for why a DMO should partner with us to solve issues like overtourism or regional growth.
  • Custom Proposal Building: Create high-quality pitch decks that translate complex data into clear, persuasive marketing stories that resonate with government and tourism board stakeholders.

Success Metrics

  • Pitch Win Rate: Success rate of proposals you helped develop and present.
  • Insight Quality: Ability to produce actionable consumer insights that change or improve our campaign strategies.
  • Operational Accuracy: Zero errors in campaign setup and on-time delivery of all partner milestones.
  • Strategic Impact: Evidence of solving the DMO's core challenges (e.g., shifting traveler behavior to new regions).

What You'll Need

  • The Experience: 8–10+ years in Marketing Strategy, Operations, or Agency Account Management (with people management experience).
  • Analytical & Creative: You are equally comfortable investigating data in Tableau/Excel as you are brainstorming a creative big idea.
  • Research Skills: Proven experience leading consumer research (desktop research, surveys, focus groups) and turning those findings into actionable insights.
  • Problem-Solving Methodology: A desirable skill is the use of frameworks like Design Thinking to analyze problems and build user-centric solutions.
  • Strategic Storytelling: Ability to take complex data and explain it simply and persuasively to partners.
  • Operational Excellence: You have a proven track record of managing high-volume, high-complexity delivery. You thrive on building the SOPs, checklists, and frameworks that allow a team to run like a well-oiled machine.
  • The People Manager: Proven experience managing a team.
