Job Title: Steel M&T Specialist
Business Unit: AR (Advanced Refractories)
Department: M&T (Marketing & Technology)
Location: Malaysia / Thailand / Indonesia / Vietnam
Reports To: AR Iron & Steel M&T Head, SEA
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design & Product Selection:
- Work closely with the sales team and customers to understand technical requirements.
- Collaborate with design teams for product selection and preparation of the Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Support the preparation of techno-commercial proposals with necessary technical inputs.
2. Product Trials:
- Collaborate with R&D to select suitable products for trials at customer sites.
- Provide technical support during product trials in coordination with the sales team and customer.
- Follow up on trial performance and generate detailed reports.
3. Implementation of Improvement Initiatives:
- Collect and analyze operational data to identify opportunities for product and application improvements.
- Provide technical solutions and support for implementing improvements in collaboration with the sales team and customer.
- Ensure customer follow-up for continued satisfaction and operational efficiency.
4. Marketing & Competitor Activity Monitoring:
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities or potential threats.
- Work closely with the sales team to align activities with the annual marketing and strategic plans.
5. Technical Troubleshooting & Problem Resolution:
- Provide technical troubleshooting and resolve any product/application-related issues.
- Manage and resolve customer complaints related to product performance or application issues.
6. Standardization of Application & Installation:
- Develop and maintain engineering standards for product applications and installation, particularly for Melting, Refining, and Tundish processes.
- Ensure these standards are followed by the sales and operational teams.
7. Training & Performance Tracking:
- Deliver training on product application and installation to the sales team and customers.
- Track the performance of installed products and suggest improvements where necessary.
8. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE):
- Adhere to Vesuvius Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines related to risk assessments, machine safety, safety audits, and work permits.
- Ensure safe and compliant operations at all customer site
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Ceramics, or related discipline.
Experience:
- Experience in handling technical and application-related tasks for refractory products (preferred).
- Experience in steel plant operations is a plus.
