Job Description
Senior / Mechanical Design Engineer
We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Design Engineer to develop complex electro-mechanical products from concept through production. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanism design expertise, solid engineering fundamentals, and experience translating product requirements into reliable, manufacturable designs.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical mechanisms, modules, and electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Own product development from concept, prototyping and validation through production launch.
- Perform engineering calculations including motor sizing, torque, gear ratio and tolerance analysis.
- Develop and optimize mechanisms involving gears, cams, linkages, motors and power transmission systems.
- Apply GD&T, DFM/DFA and FEA to ensure robust and manufacturable designs.
- Design components involving machining, sheet metal, plastics, die-casting and other manufacturing processes.
- Troubleshoot design and production issues and drive product improvements.
- Work closely with Manufacturing, EE, Firmware, Software, suppliers and other cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Strong hands-on mechanical and mechanism design experience.
- Experience taking products from concept through production.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD such as SolidWorks, Creo, NX, Inventor or equivalent.
- Good knowledge of GD&T and engineering analysis.
- Experience with motors, motion systems and mechanical calculations.
- Experience with DFM/DFA, DFMEA and FEA is advantageous.
