Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and coordination of ACMV/HVAC, fire protection, hydraulic/plumbing and sanitary systems.
- Manage mechanical design deliverables from concept and detailed design through tender and construction stages.
- Prepare, review and approve engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, schedules and technical submissions.
- Ensure designs comply with project requirements, authority regulations, relevant codes, standards and company procedures.
- Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical, civil, BIM and other engineering disciplines.
- Identify design risks, technical issues and coordination conflicts and develop practical solutions.
- Lead technical meetings and liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors and other stakeholders.
- Review and provide technical guidance on the work of mechanical engineers, designers and drafting teams.
- Support tender clarifications, technical evaluations, construction-stage design matters and value engineering.
- Monitor project deliverables, timelines, design changes, scope requirements and cost considerations.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- Minimum 6 years of mechanical design experience, preferably in a consultancy environment.
- Strong hands-on experience in ACMV/HVAC, fire protection and hydraulic/plumbing services.
- Experience working on large-scale building or infrastructure projects.
- Experience in rail, healthcare, commercial, institutional, industrial or data centre projects is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of relevant local authority requirements, codes of practice and international engineering standards.
- Experience reviewing mechanical calculations, drawings, specifications and technical submissions.
- Hands-on experience with relevant engineering design software and BIM platforms.
- Good understanding of MEP construction methods, cost considerations and site constraints.
- Experience supervising or mentoring engineers, designers and drafting teams.
