About the Role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will:
- Independently lead mechanical design for automation and customized equipment projects
- Localize and optimize proven HQ designs for Malaysia execution
- Support new project concept development and quotation
- Work closely with project managers, electrical and software engineers
- Participate in design reviews with HQ engineering team
- Support FAT and commissioning activities when required
You will play a key role in shaping the technical foundation of our Malaysia engineering team.

Responsibilities
- Concept Design & Quotation Support (20%)
- Participate in technical evaluation and concept design for new projects
- Support sales in technical clarification and quotation preparation
- Identify design risks and propose mitigation solutions
- Adapt HQ designs to local manufacturing conditions
- Performance Indicators:
- Concept feasibility and completeness
- Risk identification capability
- Timeliness of quotation support
- Project Mechanical Design Execution (35%)
- Independently perform 3D mechanical design and 2D detailing
- Complete design tasks according to project schedule
- Control design quality and manage engineering changes
- Participate in design reviews
- Ensure compliance with corporate VDA design process and internal standards
- Performance Indicators:
- On-time design completion
- Design accuracy rate
- Change control effectiveness
- Cross-Regional Technical Collaboration (15%)
- Coordinate with HQ mechanical team on technical alignment
- Synchronize project progress and design updates
- Participate in cross-regional design review meetings
- Ensure documentation version consistency
- Site Support & Problem Solving (15%)
- Support mechanical troubleshooting during assembly and commissioning
- Assist in FAT and customer technical discussions
- Analyze and resolve mechanical issues during project execution
- Complete technical summary after FAT
- Standardization & Documentation Control (15%)
- Ensure complete documentation (drawings, BOM, photos, etc.)
- Maintain updated server records
- Participate in internal standardization initiatives
- Comply with engineering procedures and department policies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 8 years of experience in automation or customized equipment design
- Proficient in SolidWorks / Inventor / AutoCAD
- Familiar with pneumatic systems, motion mechanisms, structural design, and fixture design
- Experience in full-line or large-scale equipment projects is preferred
- Able to communicate in English / Mandarin for technical discussions
- Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills
- Willing to travel when required
