Summary:
The role is to support and provide mechanical engineering expertise for project development to ensure performance targets are achieved in a safe and environmentally sound manner. It also involves acting as the Package Technical Manager for assigned process packages, such as the Chemical Injection Package, Methanol Injection Package, and Seawater Treatment Package. In addition, the role is responsible for managing package engineering activities through technical clarifications and active vendor engagement.
Principle Accountabilities:
Mechanical Deliverables
- Responsible to prepare mechanical engineering deliverables based upon Project requirements and Company accepted practices, including Technical Specifications, Mechanical Datasheets
Mechanical /Package
- Perform technical evaluation on Vendor/Supplier proposal - selecting the technical compliance and most competitive bid
- Manage Package Vendor/Supplier to ensure the Package is delivered with technical compliance, within budget and on time.
- Lead Vendor coordination meetings, design reviews, etc.
- Review and approve Vendor's/Supplier's deliverables
Others
- Support risk assessment, HAZOP/HAZID reviews
Complexities of the Job:
- Performed varied tasks using established codes and standards. Plans and carries out successive steps independently and resolve problems and deviations in accordance with related codes and standards, and Company accepted practices.
- To make sure safety is critically concerned by providing good safety engineering with meeting minimum safety regulation and requirement.
- Participate in develop innovative and cost-effective solutions in designing package equipment.
- Prioritizing and organizing work as requested by many parties.
Knowledge & Requirements:
- Vast knowledge and hands on experience of design, construction, installation, commissioning of equipment on the FPSO.
- Understanding and familiar with related design tools used in FPSO project such as AutoCAD, Navis Works, etc.
- Familiar with Classification Body requirement, International Code & Standards, and Client specification.
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years experience in Oil & Gas industry, with at least 5 years in engineering design.
- Experience in all stages of FPSO projects, i.e. conceptual study, FEED, detailed engineering, construction.
- Experience in managing large Process Packages for offshore or floaters applications.
- Registered Engineer with BEM.
- Computer Literacy (MS Office, e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Posses knowledge of Mechanical Engineering Codes and Standards for Oil & Gas Industry, e.g. ASME, API, ASTM, etc.
- Good verbal and written skills in English.
- Able to handle stress, especially in meeting a dateline for bidding submission .
- Team player.
- Able to work independently.
