Job Overview
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work; Bachelor's Degree in Arts/ Social Science (major in Social Work); Post-graduate Degree in Social Work; Graduate Diploma in Social Work
4 Years Of Relevant Work Experience Preferred.
Required Competencies and Capabilities (Skills, Experiences and Professional Licences)
- Be part of the leadership team in managing the overall operation and development of the Medical Social Work team at Child Development Unit.
- Provide clinical consultation and guidance to social work practice in the areas of counselling and support, casework management and crisis response.
- Provide clinical supervision to the junior medical social workers.
- Provide clinical social work intervention and casework management to patients and families for holistic patient care
- Counselling: to provide counselling and emotional support to patients and family members to help them to cope with their illnesses and medical treatment.
- Casework: to work on case assessment and action plan. Preliminary case assessment is to be completed by 2nd to 3rd day of referral. Complete assessment and action plan is to be completed by 3rd to 5th day of referral.
- Crisis Intervention: to provide priority response within same day or by next working day, and intensive case management to patients who go through personal crisis including attempted suicide or are victims of abuse.
- Financial Assessment and Assistance to patients who require financial aid for medical treatment.
- Teamwork with multi-disciplinary team to achieve holistic care for patients
- Liaison with community organisation for proactive case management.
- Provide clinical social work supervision to MSWs.
- Identify and work on clinical areas for improvement in relation to the assigned portfolio
- Take on quality improvement projects and activities
- Contribute to learning and sharing in weekly department case conference / journal club
- Provide field supervision to NUS or SUSS undergraduates in Social Work as required
- Any other duties as assigned by the department
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work; Bachelor's Degree in Arts/ Social Science (major in Social Work); Post-graduate Degree in Social Work; Graduate Diploma in Social Work
