Job Description

Job Summary:

To play a pivotal role in driving the performance of assigned brands or product categories through strategic assortment planning, inventory management, sales analysis, and cross-functional coordination. You will be responsible for ensuring the right products are available in the right place, at the right time, at the right price, and with the right quantity to achieve business goals..

Responsibility:

Buying & Product Selection

  • Lead end-to-end buying process, from trend research, product selection, and range planning to final order placement.
  • Source and negotiate with suppliers, brand principals, or manufacturers for the best pricing, terms, and exclusivity.

Merchandise Planning

  • Develop seasonal and annual merchandise strategies aligned with business goals and market demand.
  • Define assortment mix, pricing strategy, and product lifecycle plans across online and offline channels.
  • Conduct competitive analysis to ensure product differentiation and market relevance.

Inventory & OTB Management

  • Build and manage Open-to-Buy (OTB) plans to control budget and ensure healthy stock turnover.
  • Monitor sell-through, aging inventory, and restocking needs to maximize sales and minimize markdowns.
  • Liaise with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely deliveries and stock availability.

Sales & Performance Analysis

  • Track sales performance, margin, and inventory KPIs by SKU, category, and channel.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to support business decisions and improve future buy cycles.
  • React quickly to trends and performance by adjusting assortments, pricing, or allocations.

Collaboration & Execution

  • Work closely with marketing, sales, visual merchandising, and e-commerce teams to execute campaigns and launches.
  • Provide product knowledge and training to internal teams to ensure alignment on strategy and execution.

Requirement:

  • Diploma or Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 35 years of experience in merchandising and buying, preferably in retail, lifestyle, or consumer goods industry.
  • Proven track record in assortment planning, sales forecasting, vendor negotiation, and inventory control.
  • Experience handling both offline and online retail channels is a strong advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and merchandise planning tools, or ERP systems.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
