Position Summary
The Senior Merchandiser is responsible for driving merchandise strategy, product assortment planning, and in‑season performance management to achieve sales, margin, and inventory targets. This role partners closely with internal stakeholders to ensure the right product, in the right quantity, at the right time, aligned with UNIQLO's brand philosophy and local market needs.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan optimal merchandise mix, and SKU assortment to support store requirements from product launch through sell-out.
- Continuously review and revise merchandising and production plan based on actual sales performance and marketing response.
- Monitor weekly sales, sell-through and inventory performance at item and SKU level, identifying risks and opportunities early.
- Develop and execute merchandising/sales/production strategies along with initiative to revise plans accordingly to actual sales situation and adjust production by SKU.
- To minimize Out of Stock SKU by percentage through thorough review and forecasting each item and its SKU's sales.
- As a team, target to maximize sales and profit, minimize year-end inventory, and eliminate SKU out of stock.
- Support markdown, promotion and stock-balancing decisions to optimize sell-through and inventory health.
- Partner closely with internal stakeholders (Marketing, Logistics, Inventory Control, E-Commerce) on promotional planning, product focus & launches, delivery, store readiness to ensure smooth execution.
- Align local merchandising executive with global guidelines while adapting to Malaysia market needs.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Studies, Mass Communication or any others related field
- Good in figure and analysis skills.
- 6-8 years of working experience in merchandising, preferably in Fashion and Consumer market.
- Strong commercial acumen with an interest in understanding latest consumer trends and behavior.
- Self-driven, takes ownership and acts promptly to accomplish performance targets and expectations.
