Job Summary:

The Senior Executive, Merchandising (Buyer / Planner) is responsible for ensuring Robotique (Mr Robot Retail Store) carries the right products at the right stock levels, balancing product range, buying decisions, inventory, and margin performance.

In MR. ROBOT's fast-moving retail environment, the role works closely with Product, Store, Finance,

Channel Sales, and Operations teams to assess demand, manage suppliers, plan stock, and build a

commercially healthy product range.

Job Responsibilities:

Range & Product

• Propose the product range and regular rotation plan, judging each product together with its accessories and add-ons.
• Scout new and first-to-market products, and bring new product proposals to the Product Committee.
• Tag each product by its role on the floor, such as traffic, revenue, or margin driver, and plan sourcing and buying accordingly.
• Confirm with the Store Manager that every product can be demonstrated and explained before it is ranged.
• Review product performance regularly and recommend whether to keep, watch, or phase out each line.
• Set RRP and pricing, and keep product information accurate across the store, .com, and marketplaces.

Buying & Suppliers

• Build purchase plans within the budget released by Finance, and check demand and budget before any order is raised.
• Present each order to management with quantity, cost, and remaining budget.
• Manage brand principals and suppliers on pricing, MOQs, lead times, terms, and exclusivity.
• Commit forward stock early enough to cover import lead times.
• Shift the balance between local and self-import sourcing as sales data supports it.

Inventory & Margin

• Update stock cover weekly and flag products at risk of running out or becoming overstocked.
• Place orders on a set schedule for local and import sourcing.
• Keep stock reserved for distribution partners separate from store stock, and coordinate their orders with Channel Sales and Operations.
• Plan and track demo units, including allocation, rotation, and write-off.
• Check landed cost against margin targets and flag exceptions.

Success Measures:

• Stock cover within target.
• Sell-through and aged stock.
• Gross margin.
• In-stock rate on key products.
• Accessory attach.
• Buying within budget.
• Range rotation on schedule.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Experience in buying, merchandise planning, or inventory planning, ideally within consumer electronics retail.
• Strong Excel and analytical skills, including stock cover, reorder points, and open-to-buy.
• Import and supplier experience, including landed cost, duty, MOQs, and lead times; experience with China suppliers is an advantage.
• Strong commercial negotiation skills.
• Disciplined and data-led, with the confidence to assess demand carefully and say not yet to a buy.
• Genuine interest in new technology and robotics.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is an advantage.
• Location: Balakong Industrial Park, Seri Kembangan, Selangor.
