As a Senior Network Engineer in the Network Operations Center (NOC), you will play a critical role in maintaining the stability and performance of DHL's global network infrastructure-across both on-premises data centers and cloud-based environments. Your primary responsibility is to monitor, identify, and escalate issues affecting business-critical services across technologies such as LAN, WAN, Wireless LAN, Firewalls, and Proxy.

In addition to operational duties, you will contribute to service improvement by analyzing recurring issues and providing feedback and recommendations to help optimize network performance, reduce operational risk, and enhance overall service delivery. This includes identifying patterns, proposing configuration improvements, and collaborating with engineering and architecture teams. You will also mentor junior engineers and support knowledge sharing within the team.

This position requires a blend of deep technical knowledge, strong analytical thinking, and effective communication skills. You will work closely with global teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure that DHL's network infrastructure remains robust, scalable, and aligned with business needs.

Here's what you will do

  • Lead and coordinate incident resolution for Telecom infrastructure.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for WAN (SDWAN, MPLS), WLAN, Proxy
  • Provide interim and permanent solutions for business-critical incidents.
  • Analyze incident trends and network capacity for proactive planning.
  • Participate in change management processes.
  • Monitor and resolve infrastructure events impacting service quality.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers.
  • Demonstrate ownership and accountability in all assigned tasks.
  • Responsible for documentation and updating internal processes within the team.

What you should have:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of hands-on experience in Telecoms or Network Operations.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).
  • CCNP-level knowledge or certification preferred.
  • Deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, Cisco switching/routing, and wireless LAN.
  • Familiarity with firewall (FW), intrusion prevention (NIPS), F5 loadbalancing and Proxy.
  • Excellent communication, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud-based networking and hybrid environments (e.g., Azure, AWS).
  • Exposure to automation and orchestration tools (e.g., Ansible, Python scripting).
  • ITIL Foundation

Hi, my name is Pavel, and I'm the Global NOC Team Manager. I began my career at DHL IT Services in 2012 as a Network Engineer in the Network Operations team. My passion for hands-on experience with network technologies led me to the Network Engineering team, where I took on the role of Manager of Network Engineering. In 2022, I transitioned into my current position as Head of the Network Operations Center. Together with the strong support of a multinational and diverse team, we are united by a shared ambition - advancing network technology. I'm looking forward to having you onboard!

The Network Operations Center (NOC) is a mission-critical function within the Telecoms department, providing real-time monitoring and operational support for DHL's global network and security infrastructure. The NOC serves as the first line of defense against service disruptions, ensuring rapid detection, escalation, and resolution of incidents that could impact business operations.

The global NOC organization operates across multiple regions to provide seamless 24/7 coverage. Each regional team contributes to this effort by managing incidents, executing changes, and maintaining service continuity within their time zone. The Cyberjaya team plays a vital role in this structure, working closely with other regional NOCs and technical teams to uphold service quality and reliability. The environment is fast-paced and high-pressure, requiring precision, responsiveness, and strong collaboration across teams and geographies.

The company DHL itself was founded in San Francisco, United States, in 1969 and expanded its service throughout the world by the late 1970s. In 1979, under the name of DHL Air Cargo, the company entered the Hawaiian islands with an inter-island cargo service using two DC-3 and four DC-6 aircraft. Adrian Dalsey and Larry Hillblom personally oversaw the daily operations until its eventual bankruptcy closed the doors in 1983. At its peak, DHL Air Cargo employed just over 100 workers, management and pilots.
