Senior Oracle/MS SQL Database Administrator

We are currently recruiting a Senior Oracle-SQL Database Administrator to join our Cloud Engineering & IT Services team based in Kuala Lumpur.

As a critical internal support function, the Cloud Engineering & IT Services team's purpose is to ensure that all other Tribal staff can continuously do their jobs effectively and productively, from an IT systems and services perspective.

The Role

The role of the Senior Oracle-SQL Database Administrator is to provide stable, optimal environments comprising Database and Application Server and associated technologies, to support the company's product development and client use of the company's products, on both Cloud Systems and client-provided infrastructure.

Your core responsibilities will include:

• Monitoring, Incident and Problem Management
• Monitor and respond to alerts and events of Managed Environments relating to Oracle and/or SQL issues.
• Provide input into triage and resolution/workarounds of incidents raised, that relate to Oracle and/or SQL issues in the application and on the platform of the Managed Environments.

• Database Administration
• Administer and maintain the Oracle/SQL database tier of managed environments for optimal performance, security, and reliability.
• Ensure appropriate processes exist and are maintained for backup and restoration purposes, in line with Service Level Agreements in the Oracle/SQL environments.
• Ensuring data remains protected with the correct level of security and access governance.

• Installation and Upgrades
• Lead the technical activities for upgrading and installing application and platform components on existing or new infrastructure (as required) for Managed Environments, with responsibility for delivering to the required time, effort and specification.

To be successful in this role it will be essential that you can demonstrate expert working knowledge of the following:

• Very strong working knowledge of database and application server low-level architecture.
• Extensive experience of having worked in a DBA role in an enterprise environment.
• Proficiency in optimisation including indexing and best practice SQL queries.
• Proficiency in Unix / Linux / Windows Operating
• Proficiency in Operating System shell scripting
• Proficiency in designing highly available database solutions
• Extensive demonstrable technical operational experience in an enterprise environment.
