Job Description

1. Key Responsibilities

1.1 Electrical System Design

1.1.1 Electrical Control System Architecture

- Design overall electrical control architecture for automation equipment

- Define power distribution, safety circuits, control circuits, and I/O allocation

- Develop electrical concept design according to project requirements

1.1.2 Electrical Hardware Design

- Design electrical schematics using EPLAN / AutoCAD Electrical

- Select electrical components (PLC, safety PLC, servo drives, sensors, relays, breakers, power supplies, etc.)

- Ensure compliance with relevant electrical standards (IEC, CE, local regulations)

- Prepare BOM for electrical components

- Develop control panel layout and wiring diagrams

- Review panel assembly drawings

- Ensure panel design meets safety and maintenance requirements

1.1.4 Documentation

- Prepare complete electrical documentation packages

- Generate I/O lists, cable lists, terminal lists, and wiring diagrams

- Maintain revision control and documentation updates

1.2 PLC Programming & Control System Development

1.2.1 PLC System Architecture & Programming

- Design PLC control logic architecture

- Develop modular, structured PLC programs

- Implement communication protocols (Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.)

1.2.2 HMI & System Integration

- Develop HMI interface and alarm management

- Integrate motion systems, servo drives, and safety systems

- Interface with vision systems and external equipment

1.2.3 FAT / SAT & Commissioning

- Perform internal testing and validation

- Support Factory Acceptance Test (FAT)

- Conduct Site Acceptance Test (SAT)

- Perform on-site commissioning and troubleshooting

1.3 Project & Technical Responsibilities

1.3.1 Technical Support During Quotation Stage

- Provide electrical concept evaluation

- Estimate I/O count and hardware configuration

- Identify technical risks

1.3.2 Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Work closely with Mechanical Engineering for design feasibility

- Coordinate with assembly team during build phase

- Provide technical support to after-sales service

1.3.3 Risk Identification & Problem Solving

- Identify potential electrical and control system risks

- Analyze root causes of system failures

- Propose preventive and corrective solutions

1.4 Standardization & Leadership

1.4.1 Technical Standardization

- Contribute to electrical design standards

- Develop reusable PLC program templates

- Improve electrical design efficiency

1.4.2 Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing

- Guide junior engineers

- Conduct internal technical reviews

- Support team skill development

1.4.3 Documentation & Data Management

- Ensure all drawings, programs, and documentation are properly archived

- Maintain version control

1.4.4 Perform other duties assigned by supervisor

2. Performance Criteria

- Electrical design quality (error rate, rework rate)

- Program stability and system reliability

- On-time project completion

- FAT/SAT performance

- Technical documentation completeness

- Contribution to standardization

- Team collaboration and mentoring

3. Authority

- Technical ownership of electrical and PLC design decisions

- Authority to propose design improvements

- Responsibility for technical risk escalation

4. Qualifications & Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field

- 5–8+ years of experience in customized automation industry

- Strong experience in:

- PLC programming (Siemens S7-1200 / 1500 preferred)

- TIA Portal

- Industrial communication networks

- Strong electrical design capability:

- EPLAN / AutoCAD Electrical

- Control panel design

- Component selection and sizing

- Experience in motion control and servo systems preferred

- Familiar with FAT / SAT and machine commissioning

- Knowledge of electrical safety standards (IEC / CE preferred)

- Good English communication skills
