The Senior Principal Operations Engineer is tasked with solving unique and complex problems that broadly impact the business. They must proactively identify and solve the most complex problems that impact the Management and direction of the business. The Senior Principal Operations Engineer is considered a specialist in the field of Operations Engineering (Fab), and they offer a broad base of knowledge about the Engineering Function. The Senior Principal Operations Engineer impacts the direction and resource allocation of programs and projects in their discipline and works within general functional policies and industry guidelines. The Senior Principal Operations Engineer role requires conceptual and innovative thinking to develop creative solutions to Operations Engineering (Fab) challenges.
Responsibilities
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize project delivery in line with industry best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align operational goals with overall business objectives
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and drive initiatives to increase operational efficiency
- Streamline workflows, ensuring effective resource utilization and timely project completion
- Regularly analyze operational data and metrics to identify areas for optimization
- Oversee the successful execution of EPCI projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards
- Coordinate and communicate with various stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure project deliverables are met within defined timelines and budgets
- Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and monitor progress to mitigate risks and resolve any operational issues promptly
- Implement quality control processes and conduct project reviews to drive continuous improvement
- Act as a subject matter expert for complex engineering projects, providing technical guidance and resolving technical challenges
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations throughout project execution
- Review and analyze engineering designs, specifications, and drawings to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Stay updated with emerging technologies, trends, and innovations in the EPCI industry and drive their incorporation into project execution strategies
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications and Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably in Mechanical, Civil, or Petroleum Engineering)
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in EPCI, with a focus on engineering operations and project management
- Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering large-scale EPCI projects
- In-depth understanding of EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation) principles and practices
- Strong knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and codes relevant to engineering functions in the EPCI industry
- Proficiency in using project management tools and software to manage and monitor projects effectively
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with a demonstrated ability to provide innovative solutions
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving targets and driving continuous improvement
