Role Title: Senior Programme Manager for Data & Analytics
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
About the Role:
This role is accountable for endtoend delivery of complex Insurance Data & Analytics initiatives across APAC, spanning data foundations, governance, analytics, dashboards, regulatory reporting and platform modernization. The Project Manager will operate at the intersection of business (Underwriting, Claims, Distribution, Actuarial, Finance), Data & Analytics, Data Engineering, Technology, and Risk & Compliance, ensuring initiatives are delivered on time, on scope, auditdefensible, and aligned to the One APAC Data Strategy and Target Operating Model. This role is critical to reducing delivery risk, preventing scope creep, improving execution discipline, and ensuring benefits realization across a large and diverse APAC portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- EndtoEnd Project Delivery (Data & Analytics Context)
- Manage multi project delivery of Data & Analytics initiatives including - Data foundations (Data Lake, UDMs, MDM, Datamarts); Executive and operational dashboards; Data Governance and regulatory initiatives; Platform modernization and techdebt reduction
- Translate business problems into executable delivery plans, aligned to defined scope with minimum data standards and architecture and governance requirements
- Drive disciplined execution across discovery, design, build, test, deployment and BAU handover.
- Delivery Governance & Control
- Establish and run clear delivery governance - RAID management (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies); Stage gates and design approvals; Change control and scope management
- Proactively manage crossmarket dependencies, especially where data sources differ by country and Regulatory or dataprivacy approvals are required
- Ensure auditready documentation exists for Requirements; Data lineage / ownership; Controls and approvals
- Stakeholder & Executive Management
- Act as the single point of accountability across Business sponsors, Data & Analytics leads, Data engineering, Market IT teams, Risk, Compliance and Legal
- Run Steering Committees and executive updates: with clear RAG status reporting, evidence-based progress reporting, decision-led escalations
- Manage expectations tightly in environments with competing priorities and constrained capacity.
- Planning, Estimation & Capacity Management
- Build credible delivery plans and estimates based on Person-days/FTE- months, market specific constraints, engineering, and analytics effort
Key Skills
- Delivery and Project Management – Proven experience in delivering large, complex data programs (multi-workstream, multi-market
- Strong command of Agle, hybrid and waterfall delivery in regulated markets
- Data & Analytics Domain expertise - data lakes, data marts, MDMS, UDMs, BI & Analytics platforms ( e.g Power BI)
- Data quality, lineage and governance concepts
- Insurance domain knowledge – ideally retail, commercial and specialty
- Executive communication
Experience & Qualification Requirements:
- 10+ years experience in Project / Program Management, with at least:
- 5+ years in Data, Analytics or Technology transformation
- Experience in Insurance or Financial Services
- Demonstrated delivery of Multimarket initiatives, Data foundation or governance programs
- Formal PM qualification (PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe, or equivalent) preferred.
