Role Overview
As a Senior Project Engineer, you will support the Project Manager in delivering strategic projects by ensuring effective coordination across stakeholders, monitoring site activities, and maintaining compliance with project standards, safety requirements, and contractual obligations.
You will be exposed to large-scale infrastructure projects within one of Malaysia's leading ports, contributing directly to PTP's growth and transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Execution
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing projects in accordance with the Project Implementation Framework
- Monitor project progress, site activities, and contractor performance
- Ensure works are delivered within scope, timeline, and quality requirements
Site & Contractor Management
- Supervise site activities to ensure compliance with specifications, QA/QC standards, and safety requirements
- Coordinate with contractors and consultants to resolve technical and operational issues
- Review work schedules, progress reports, and deliverables
Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with internal stakeholders including Operations, Engineering, Facilities, HSSE, Supply Chain, and Legal
- Facilitate cross-functional coordination to ensure smooth project execution
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and environmental requirements
- Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and project records
- Support submission of reports, approvals, and project updates
External Coordination
- Liaise with consultants, vendors, third-party inspectors, and regulatory authorities
- Support approvals, inspections, and project-related documentation processes
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical or related field)
Experience
- 25 years of experience in project engineering, construction, or infrastructure projects
- Experience in port, logistics, or heavy industrial environments is an added advantage
Skills & Competencies
- Strong project coordination and problem-solving skills
- Good understanding of project lifecycle and site execution
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
- Familiarity with project documentation and reporting
- Knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements
