We're partnering with a major global education provider undergoing a large-scale digital transformation. They are building a new technology capability hub in Malaysia, focused on modernising student systems, uplifting enterprise technology, and delivering next‑generation digital experiences across multiple campuses.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Senior QA Engineer (Data & Analytics) to join a multi‑year strategic program modernising the entire student management ecosystem.

About the Role

The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer (Data&Analytics) role is focused on ensuring the quality, reliability, and integrity of data solutions delivered on a modern Lakehouse platform.

This role plays a critical part in enabling trustworthy, data-driven decision-making across the University by proactively identifying defects, improving test coverage, and championing best practices in quality assurance across data and integration initiatives

Your Responsibilities

• Define, implement, and continuously improve the quality assurance strategy, test approach, and release assurance practices for Monash's data and analytics solutions across the Lakehouse platform.
• Establish and maintain scalable QA frameworks, test assets, and automation patterns that support consistent quality practices and future growth of the QA capability.
• Develop, document, and maintain automated test cases, validation scripts, and quality checks for data pipelines, integrations, and critical data solutions, with a strong focus on repeatability and CI/CD integration.
• Lead validation of complex data workflows, including ETL/ELT processes and large-scale batch data pipelines, to ensure the reliability, integrity, and quality of delivered data solutions.
• Execute risk-based data quality validation, profiling, and defect analysis to identify issues early, support root cause investigation, and improve overall test coverage.
• Provide quality assurance oversight for critical analytics and reporting outputs, including validating datasets, applied business rules, and source-to-report accuracy for high-priority use cases.

Required Skills

• Tertiary qualifications, or extensive equivalent experience, in computer science, software engineering, quality assurance, data engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in data quality assurance and test strategy development within complex data and analytics environments.
• Demonstrated ability to establish QA approaches, test frameworks, and scalable quality practices in delivery teams.
• Strong technical skills in SQL, Python, PySpark, and Databricks.
• Experience validating complex data workflows, including ETL/ELT processes and large-scale batch data pipelines.
• Demonstrated experience writing tests, performing data validation, and automating quality checks across large and complex datasets.
• Hands-on experience with test automation and DevOps practices, including embedding automated quality controls within CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience working in cloud-based data environments and modern data platforms and architectures, such as Azure, Databricks, and Lakehouse environments using Delta Lake.
• Strong analytical and diagnostic capability, including experience identifying, investigating, and helping resolve data quality issues through profiling, anomaly detection, and root cause analysis.
