Quantity Surveyor

Savills Projects is a market leading project and construction management service line that specializes in client representative real estate project delivery. Savills Projects works across multiple real estate sectors including office interiors, industrial, mixed use, hospitality, living sectors, government and retail.

Savills Projects primarily represents its clients as a fee-based client consultant to deliver projects successfully by managing concept and briefing, budget assessment, consultants engagement, landlord interface, tendering to contractors and suppliers, no site construction and post occupancy. Savills Projects manages projects from inception to completion.

Savills Projects is currently seeking a high-caliber and qualified Quantity Surveyor to join our team, based in Malaysia. The successful applicant will be empowered to work with autonomy within a team environment to support and execute consultancy assignments involving development projects, A&A / AEI works, fit-out projects, industrial and corporate environments. Your responsibilities will be focused on commercial, cost, procurement, vendor management and contract management in order to deliver projects successfully.

Role:

  • Preparation of project budgets
  • Drawing take off's and preparation of Cost Plans
  • Bill of quantities where applicable
  • Procurement strategies and tracking documentation
  • Preparation of tender documentation
  • Commercial assessment and recommendation for award and contract formulation
  • End to end cost tracking
  • Cost reporting monthly and as required
  • Contractor and Suppliers Pre Qualifications
  • Value Engineering
  • Vendor engagement and tender coordination
  • Interim claim valuations and payments
  • Variation assessments and recommendations
  • Handling and resolving contractual disputes
  • Commercial close out and final accounts
  • Management of Defects Liability Period and retention release
  • Contract management and administration
  • Working closely with the Group CEO, Projects Director(s) and Project Managers to ensure project targets are met.

Running Procore, Microsoft Project and all Savills in house Project Control Systems

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or Cost Management
  • Proven working experience as a Quantity Surveyor or a relevant role in Malaysia and / or South East Asia
  • Proficiency in English
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Excellent command of MS Office and Cost Management software
  • Detailed knowledge of Malaysia and South East Asia pricing
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
