Job Description

OVERALL SCOPE OF JOB DESRIPTION

The Senior Revenue Analyst is responsible for supporting the Director of Revenue & Reservations in maximising the resort's overall revenue, profitability and market share through effective revenue management, pricing strategies, forecasting, inventory optimisation, distribution management and commercial analysis.

The role is responsible for performing the full range of revenue analysis functions, ensuring that strategic and tactical revenue decisions are supported by accurate data, comprehensive reporting and detailed market intelligence.

Working closely with the Revenue Management, Reservations, Sales, Marketing, Finance and Front Office teams, the Revenue Analyst analyses business performance, booking pace, demand patterns, market trends, distribution channel performance and competitor activity to identify revenue opportunities and provide actionable recommendations that support the resort's commercial objectives and reinforce its position as a world-leading luxury resort.

The Revenue Analyst prepares daily, weekly and monthly revenue reports, maintains accurate forecasts, supports the development and execution of pricing strategies, monitors key revenue performance indicators, and assists in the optimization of all market segments and distribution channels. The role also supports budgeting, business planning, commercial strategy and revenue meetings through detailed financial and operational analysis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Revenue Strategy & Analysis

  • Support the Director of Revenue & Reservations in the development and execution of the resort's revenue management strategy.
  • Analyse historical, current and future demand patterns to maximize revenue and profitability.
  • Monitor and evaluate market trends, booking pace, business mix and demand forecasts.
  • Recommend pricing, inventory and distribution strategies to maximize revenue across all market segments.
  • Analyze occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, TRevPAR, RGI, MPI and ARI performance.
  • Identify revenue opportunities and recommend corrective actions where required.
  • Conduct displacement analysis for group business and evaluate the profitability of business opportunities.
  • Support strategic decision-making through detailed commercial analysis.

Pricing & Inventory Management

  • Assist in managing pricing strategies across all market segments.
  • Monitor and maintain room inventory controls.
  • Recommend and implement rate restrictions, minimum length of stay controls and availability strategies.
  • Review and optimise room type inventory.
  • Ensure rate parity across all distribution channels.
  • Monitor promotional offers and package pricing.
  • Evaluate pricing competitiveness against identified competitors.

Forecasting & Budgeting

  • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and annual demand forecasts.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets.
  • Maintain rolling forecasts.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy and recommend adjustments.
  • Produce demand forecasts by segment, source market and distribution channel.
  • Assist in preparing financial projections for commercial planning.

Distribution Channel Management

  • Monitor performance across all distribution channels including Brand Website, GDS, OTA, Wholesale, Luxury Consortia and Direct Business.
  • Analyse acquisition costs and channel profitability.
  • Recommend improvements to channel mix.
  • Support optimisation of electronic distribution strategies.
  • Monitor connectivity between systems.
  • Ensure accurate loading of rates, restrictions and inventory.

Market Intelligence

  • Conduct ongoing competitor analysis.
  • Monitor competitor pricing and promotional activity.
  • Analyse market trends and source market performance.
  • Review airline capacity, public holidays, events and economic indicators that may impact demand.
  • Monitor STR reports and benchmark performance.
  • Identify emerging business opportunities.

Commercial Collaboration

Work closely with:

Provide commercial insights that support strategic business decisions.

Revenue Meetings

  • Prepare agendas and supporting reports.
  • Present analytical findings and recommendations.
  • Monitor follow-up actions.
  • Support weekly, monthly and quarterly revenue reviews.
  • Lead revenue meetings in the absence of the Director.

Reservations Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Reservations Manager to ensure pricing and inventory strategies are effectively implemented.
  • Provide guidance on booking trends, restrictions and revenue opportunities.
  • Support Reservations during periods of high demand where operationally required.
  • Ensure alignment between Reservations Operations and Revenue Strategy.

Leadership & Succession Planning

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of all revenue management functions.
  • Progressively assume greater responsibility for strategic revenue management.
  • Act as deputy to the Director of Revenue & Reservations when required.
  • Lead pricing and inventory decisions in the Director's absence.
  • Mentor and support junior colleagues where appropriate.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the department.

Financial Responsibilities

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related discipline is preferred. Relevant professional experience in hotel revenue management, data analysis, or a related field may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
  • Professional certification in Revenue Management is advantageous.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential.
  • Experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools is desirable.
