Job Location: Open to candidates based in China, Malaysia, Korea, India, Germany, Japan, Indonesia or the United States.

Job Summary

As a Senior Sales Engineer at OPT, you will be responsible for driving the sales of our advanced vision product portfolio within your assigned territory. This role combines technical expertise with strategic sales acumen to meet and exceed sales targets, build a robust pipeline of complex business opportunities, and collaborate with technical teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences. You will act as a key ambassador for OPT, promoting our cutting-edge vision products to system integrators, distributors, machine builder and end users across industries such as electronics, automotive, and logistics.

Job Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify, approach, and secure new customers through targeted outreach, networking, and industry engagement.
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline by leveraging prospecting, cold outreach, and participation in trade shows and industry events.
  • Manage the end-to-end sales process—from lead generation and opportunity development to quotation, negotiation, order closure, and revenue realization.
  • Cultivate and strengthen long-term relationships with key accounts to drive repeat business, upselling, and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Work closely with technical and engineering teams to design and propose customized, value-driven proposals that address complex customer challenges.
  • Collaborate with sales support, marketing, and product teams to ensure competitive, timely, and customer-focused proposals.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and insights on market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automation, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in technical sales, business development, or sales engineering, preferably in machine vision, industrial automation, or related high-tech industries.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas in a competitive market.
  • Strong hunter mentality with a proactive, results-driven approach to identifying and closing new business opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with fluency in English (both written and spoken). Proficiency in Mandarin is a strong plus.
  • Ability to analyze customer operations and articulate the value proposition of OPT's products effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with CRM tools for pipeline and sales reporting.
  • Team-oriented yet capable of working independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned territory as required.
