Senior Software Automation Engineer

Role Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Automation Engineer to design, develop and implement automation solutions across the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for automating business processes, integrating enterprise systems, developing internal tools, and improving operational efficiency through modern automation technologies.

This role requires a strong technical background in software development, API integrations, workflow automation and cloud technologies. The engineer will work closely with various departments to identify automation opportunities and deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Automation Development

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise automation solutions.
• Automate manual operational and business processes.
• Build reusable automation frameworks and libraries.
• Develop internal tools to improve productivity.
• Maintain documentation for all automation workflows.

Software Development

• Develop applications and services primarily using Python.
• Build RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Perform code reviews and enforce development standards.
• Develop deployment pipelines and CI/CD automation.
• Work with Linux-based environments and cloud infrastructure.

System Integration

• Integrate internal and third-party systems using APIs.
• Design data synchronization between platforms.
• Develop middleware and connectors for enterprise applications.
• Troubleshoot integration issues.

Workflow Automation

• Design workflow automation using platforms such as n8n or similar orchestration tools.
• Develop event-driven and scheduled automation.
• Implement notification and reporting workflows.
• Optimize existing automation pipelines.

Requirements:

Technical Skills

Required:

• Proficiency in Python for backend development and automation scripting
• Strong experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs
• Solid understanding of data interchange formats (JSON, XML)
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts
• Version control experience with Git
• Comfortable working in Linux environments
• Experience containerizing applications with Docker
• Hands-on experience with API authentication mechanisms (OAuth2, JWT, API Keys)
• Experience with workflow automation platforms (e.g., n8n or equivalent tools)

Preferred:

• Experience with Python web frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django
• Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MariaDB
• Experience with caching and messaging systems such as Redis and RabbitMQ
• Exposure to container orchestration with Kubernetes
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience
• At least 3 years of experience designing and implementing automation solutions
• Proven experience integrating enterprise systems and third-party applications
• Track record of developing and maintaining production-grade applications
• Experience working with APIs, microservices architectures, and system integrations
• Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and services is an advantage

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline
• Equivalent professional experience will be considered in lieu of formal qualifications
