The Day-To-Day Activities
Technical Senior Manager
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, mentor, and manage the IT operations and support team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify training and development needs
- Recruit and onboard new team members, ensuring they are well-integrated and up to speed
Operational Oversight
- Oversee the day-to-day management of IT infrastructure and applications to ensure smooth operations
- Monitor system performance, network health, and application functionality
- Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of IT services
Incident and Problem Management
- Manage and resolve IT incidents and problems promptly to minimize downtime and impact on business operations
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement long-term solutions
- Maintain and improve incident response and escalation procedures
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of IT operations
- Generate regular performance reports for senior management
- Use data analytics to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement
Security and Compliance
- Ensure IT operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect IT assets and data
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
Maintenance and Updates
- Oversee routine maintenance tasks, such as applying updates, patches, and backups
- Ensure all IT systems and applications are up-to-date and functioning correctly
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for maintenance activities
Budget and Resource Management
- Assist in managing the IT operations budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources
- Monitor expenditures and optimize resource utilization
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising service quality
Project Management
- Manage IT projects from planning to execution, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
- Coordinate with other departments and teams to ensure successful project outcomes
- Provide regular updates on project progress to stakeholders
Process Improvement and Innovation
- Continuously evaluate and improve IT operational processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Implement best practices and new technologies to optimize IT operations
- Drive innovation within the team to stay ahead of industry trends and advancements
Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with other IT team members and departments to ensure coordinated efforts
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand their IT needs and provide appropriate solutions
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on IT improvements
Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery
- Develop and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans
- Ensure the company can quickly respond to and recover from IT disruptions
- Regularly test and update these plans to ensure their effectiveness
Others
- Undertake any other duties/functions that are assigned by HOD
About You
Responsible and focus on the daily operations, ensuring system reliability, and supporting strategic initiatives of the Telco Business Support System (BSS) functions.
Ensuring the telecommunications company's IT infrastructure and services support run smoothly and efficiently, supporting the overall business objectives and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science / IT / Electrical & Electronic / Telecommunication or equivalent
Work Experience
- Minimum 6-8 years of relevant working experience in Telco area is a must. Proven track of high-quality solutioning & technical domain expertise in Retail Billing with primary focus on Invoicing & Journaling processes
Related Industries
Candidates with hands-on experience and understanding of Whale Cloud ZSMART v9 Retail Billing system is an advantage and will be preferred
