About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Specialist, Transaction Banking – Merchant Acquiring to join our Transaction Banking team at RHB Banking Group. In this role, you will support the growth and expansion of our merchant acquiring business by driving merchant onboarding initiatives, developing strategic partnerships, and delivering data-driven insights to enhance customer acquisition and CASA growth. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, external partners, and distribution channels to execute merchant acquisition strategies, optimize performance, and strengthen our merchant ecosystem.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Support the Squad Lead in planning and coordinating tasks required for the successful delivery of key initiatives and projects
  • Support the identification, interpretation, and analysis of data, reports, and research findings to drive informed decision-making
  • Document and refine product specifications, ensuring deliverables are clearly defined and aligned with business objectives
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and business updates for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Source and analyze data to develop baselines, future-state cost assessments, FTE requirements, process maps, and other business analyses
  • Examine customer needs and identify opportunities to improve team performance through effective data capture and analysis
  • Manage Leads, Discovery, Sales Pitch, and Acceptance activities to drive merchant onboarding and CASA growth
  • Design and implement merchant acquisition strategies, particularly within online platforms, that contribute directly to new CASA account openings and deposit growth
  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with third-party vendors and solution providers, including POS partners, payment facilitators, and mall operators, to generate merchant referrals and bundled solutions
  • Identify, onboard, and co-develop value propositions with strategic partners to expand market reach and influence within targeted merchant segments
  • Collaborate with partners to develop go-to-market campaigns that drive digital payment adoption and encourage CASA linkage through promotions, bundled incentives, and co-branded initiatives
  • Maintain an up-to-date sales pipeline to track partner-sourced opportunities and evaluate partner performance against CASA conversion targets
  • Plan and execute joint-calling activities, networking engagements, and partner collaborations to maximize market penetration and generate quality leads
  • Track, analyze, and report customer engagement activities and acquisition metrics with a focus on CASA performance and usage behavior
  • Provide market intelligence and feedback on merchant behavior, partner capabilities, and competitive offerings to enhance acquisition strategies
  • Act as the key liaison between internal stakeholders and external partners, ensuring effective communication, product knowledge sharing, and sales enablement support
  • Deliver structured and ongoing training to distribution channels and partners on merchant onboarding processes and CASA-related value propositions

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Transaction Banking, Merchant Acquiring, Payments, Business Development, Sales Management, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of merchant acquiring, digital payments, and CASA products
  • Proven experience in partnership management, stakeholder engagement, and business development
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong planning, project coordination, and organizational capabilities
  • Self-driven, results-oriented, and passionate about delivering business growth
  • Ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Knowledge of the Malaysian payments landscape and transaction banking ecosystem is an added advantage
