Senior Test Lead / QA Lead (Banking Risk Platforms, APAC Delivery)

As part of our international expansion, we are building a strong regional delivery team to support complex banking implementations across Southeast Asia.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Test Lead / QA Lead who can own the end-to-end testing strategy and execution for large-scale banking system implementations.

This role is not limited to test coordination—you are expected to act as a technical quality owner, ensuring systems are production-ready, integration-stable, and performance-resilient before go-live.

You will work closely with solution architects, delivery managers, and client teams to drive high-quality releases under real-world complexity.

Key Responsibilities

1. End-to-End Test Ownership

• Define and lead overall test strategy, test planning, and execution

• Own full lifecycle testing:

SIT → UAT support → performance → go-live validation

• Ensure quality gates are met before production release

2. Integration & System Testing Leadership

• Design and execute testing for complex system integrations, including:

o Core banking systems

o Loan origination systems (LOS)

o Payment systems

o Third-party data providers

• Validate end-to-end data flows, API interactions, and business logic correctness

3. Test Architecture & Automation

• Build scalable test frameworks and automation strategies

• Drive automation across:

o API testing

o Regression testing

o Data validation

• Improve test efficiency and coverage in fast-paced delivery cycles

4. Performance & Stability Assurance

• Lead performance testing and capacity validation

• Identify and resolve:

o Throughput bottlenecks

o Latency issues

o Concurrency limitations

• Ensure systems meet banking-grade SLA and high availability requirements

5. Defect Management & Root Cause Analysis

• Establish and drive defect lifecycle management

• Lead deep technical RCA for critical issues

• Work with engineering teams to ensure permanent fixes, not workarounds

6. UAT & Client Collaboration

• Support and guide client UAT execution

• Align test scope with business scenarios and regulatory requirements

• Act as quality representative in customer-facing discussions

7. Delivery Governance & Risk Control

• Identify quality risks early and implement mitigation strategies

• Ensure production readiness, including:

o Release validation

o Rollback strategy

o Monitoring readiness

• Enforce testing standards and best practices across projects

Required Qualifications

Experience

• 5–10+ years in software testing / QA / quality engineering

• Proven experience as Test Lead / QA Lead in enterprise system delivery

• Strong background in banking or financial systems testing

Technical Expertise

• Deep understanding of:

o System integration testing (SIT)

o API testing (REST, messaging)

o Data validation and reconciliation

• Experience with:

o Distributed systems (e.g., Kafka, Redis, ES)

o Databases (SQL & NoSQL)

• Familiarity with tools such as:

o Test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, or equivalent)

o API testing tools (Postman, JMeter, etc.)

o Performance testing tools (LoadRunner, JMeter, etc.)

Quality & Delivery Capability

• Strong ownership mindset with production-quality accountability

• Ability to work under complex, multi-party delivery environments

• Experience in defect triage, prioritization, and resolution governance

Communication

• Strong client-facing communication skills

• Ability to work with cross-country teams and stakeholders

• Fluent in English (Mandarin is a plus for China-based candidates)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in risk control / anti-fraud / decision engine systems

• Background in system integrators (SI) or consulting firms

• Experience supporting multi-country banking implementations

• Familiarity with compliance and regulatory testing requirements

• Deliver stable production releases with minimal post-launch defects
