Context
We are looking for an innovative and enthusiastic candidate with a background in strategic modelling and data analysis to join our growing team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Missions/Main Duties
A range of tasks the right candidate may undertake, with support from senior staff, are as follows:
- Supporting strategic modelling projects using CUBE or EMME software, or similar strategic modelling software
- Undertaking numerical and geospatial data analysis (e.g. in Excel/QGIS) in support of modelling projects
- Developing methodologies for tasks such as OD matrix definition, surveys and related analysis
- Report writing in support of modelling projects
Following training, the ideal candidate will also assist with more general transport planning tasks, including:
- Assisting on microsimulation (e.g. VISSIM) and pedestrian modelling (e.g. VISWALK/LEGION) projects or helping work with in/outputs of these projects.
- Supporting in SYSTRA's development and deployment of digital and AI tools
Profile/Skills
Specifically, we are looking for an individual with the following skills and background:
- A minimum of 3 years relevant experience
- Proven experience using either CUBE or EMME, or similar strategic modelling software
- Proven experience using Python to solve data science problems (other programming languages e.g. R would be an advantage)
- Good communication and team-working skills
- Good communication (written & spoken) skills in English (other languages e.g. Bahasa Indonesia would be an advantage but are not required)
- A creative and independent problem-solving mindset able to understand how findings impact client outcomes
- Degree holder in an analytical discipline, although we will consider polytechnic graduates with clear experience relevant to the role.
- Knowledge of other industry software e.g. QGIS, VISSIM, VISWALK/LEGION and Excel VBA would be an advantage.
