Job Summary
The Junior Splunk Engineer will be responsible for supporting Splunk platform operations, including dashboard creation, query optimization, and integration with diverse data sources. The role involves assisting in Splunk administration, infrastructure expansion, and version upgrades, ensuring the platform delivers reliable monitoring, reporting, and visualization capabilities. The engineer will collaborate with senior team members to maintain and optimize Splunk environments across Unix/Linux systems.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain Splunk dashboards, visualizations, reports, and scheduled searches.
Write and optimize queries using Splunk Processing Language (SPL).
Tune and optimize Splunk components and queries for performance and efficiency.
Integrate Splunk with a variety of data sources for enterprise monitoring and analytics.
Assist in Splunk administration tasks, including version upgrades and infrastructure expansion.
Support and manage Splunk components such as:
Indexer Cluster
Search Head Cluster
Heavy Forwarders
Deployment Servers
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure Splunk solutions meet operational and compliance requirements.
Document configurations, queries, and procedures for audit and knowledge sharing.
Required Skills
Hands-on experience with Splunk platform administration and usage.
Strong knowledge of Splunk Processing Language (SPL).
Ability to create dashboards, reports, and scheduled searches.
Experience in query tuning and optimization.
Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems.
Proficiency in Shell scripting and Perl.
Basic knowledge of SQL for data integration.
Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with Splunk infrastructure expansion (Indexer Cluster, Search Head Cluster, Heavy Forwarders, Deployment Servers).
Exposure to version upgrade processes in Splunk environments.
