Job Description
We are looking for a hands-on Technical Migration Engineer / SharePoint Migration Specialist to support a large-scale enterprise content migration programme.
The successful candidate will work alongside the Migration Lead and progressively take ownership of an independent migration stream, enabling multiple migrations to be executed in parallel.
The programme involves migrating enterprise documents, metadata, folder structures, permissions and document history from legacy Document Management Systems, primarily Alfresco, into Microsoft SharePoint Online.
This is a technical delivery role requiring strong PowerShell skills, structured troubleshooting, data analysis and the ability to independently execute migration batches from preparation through migration, reconciliation and handover.
Key Responsibilities
Migration Execution
Own and execute assigned migration sites or batches through the complete migration lifecycle:
The engineer should gradually be capable of running a migration stream independently and in parallel with the Migration Lead.
PowerShell Automation
Maintain, execute and troubleshoot PowerShell migration scripts used for:
The candidate does not need to design the entire migration framework from day one but must be comfortable reading, understanding, troubleshooting and modifying existing PowerShell scripts.
SharePoint Online Migration
Work with SharePoint Online structures including:
Support migration using tools such as:
Migration Data Analysis
Analyse large source metadata extracts and identify migration issues including:
Work with CSV and Excel-based migration reports containing potentially hundreds of thousands of records.
Permission Migration
Support the migration of Alfresco permissions into SharePoint.

Perform reconciliation between source and target environments.
