Position Summary:The Shift Mechanical Technician performs preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and building equipment to ensure optimal facility operations during assigned shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
The Shift Mechanical Technician maintains and repairs all mechanical systems throughout the facility, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems, pumps, motors, chillers, boilers, and associated equipment. This role ensures mechanical systems operate efficiently, safely, and in accordance with manufacturer specifications and facility standards.
Routine responsibilities include conducting scheduled preventive maintenance inspections, responding to mechanical breakdowns and service requests, and performing repairs on HVAC equipment, plumbing systems, and mechanical infrastructure. The technician monitors building management systems to identify potential issues, adjusts system parameters for optimal performance, and maintains accurate maintenance records in the computerized maintenance management system.
The position involves troubleshooting mechanical problems using diagnostic tools and equipment, coordinating with contractors for specialized repairs, and supporting energy efficiency initiatives through proper system operation and maintenance. The technician also responds to emergency situations, participates in shift handovers to ensure continuity of service, and maintains inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies.
