Role Description The Site Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Samalaju, Bintulu, responsible for overseeing daily construction and engineering activities to ensure work is executed safely, on schedule, and to specified quality standards. This role coordinates with project managers, supervisors, and subcontractors, reviews drawings and technical specifications, and provides clear instructions to site teams. The Site Engineer monitors progress, prepares site reports, assists in resolving technical issues, and supports testing and commissioning of structures, equipment, and installations. The position also involves enforcing safety procedures, verifying material and workmanship compliance, and supporting maintenance or repair activities as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in civil, structural, mechanical, or electrical engineering principles, with experience in site supervision or construction management.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation, and translate them into practical site instructions.
- Competence in project coordination, progress monitoring, and basic scheduling, with attention to quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency with common engineering and office software (e.g., CAD tools, MS Office) and familiarity with testing and commissioning processes.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and stakeholders on site.
- Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability in a dynamic site environment, and ability to make sound, timely decisions.
- Relevant engineering diploma or degree (e.g., Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field); professional certification or registration is an advantage.
- Knowledge of safety standards and site HSE practices; previous experience in industrial or infrastructure projects is a plus.
