This position reports to Social Media Specialist (Retail)
Job Overview:
We're looking for a creative and collaborative Social Media Intern to join Time dotCom's Social team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with others, sharing ideas openly, and turning everyday moments, insights, and trends into engaging social content. You'll work closely with the in-house content team to support content ideation, creation, and execution across Time's owned social media platforms.
Work Life:
- Collaborate with the social & marketing team to plan, brainstorm, and execute content ideas across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook
- Assist in creating and editing basic video and static content for multi-platform use
- Support copywriting for social content that is clear, engaging, and aligned with Time's brand voice
- Spend a significant part of your day doing social listening on platforms like Instagram and TikTok, keeping a pulse on trends, conversations, and audience sentiment
- Identify and flag relevant insights, trends, or opportunities to the team based on what you observe
- Stay curious and keep up with evolving social media formats and platform behaviours
- Participate in content shoots and support video production
- Be open to being in front of the camera when needed, whether for content, trends, or simple explainers
- Work closely with the team by sharing ideas, giving input, and contributing to discussions throughout the creative process
Requirements:
- A genuine interest in social media, content creation, and digital storytelling
- Comfortable sharing opinions, ideas, and feedback in a group setting
- Enjoys collaborative brainstorming and working as part of a team
- Familiarity with basic video editing tools (e.g. CapCut)
- Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro) is a major plus
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and trends
- Able to take feedback positively and iterate on ideas
- Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin and/or Tamil is an added advantage)
- Willing to travel within Klang Valley when necessary (having a car is a plus)
- Willingness to occasionally work beyond stipulated hours when needed to support timely or ad-hoc social content
