Web Developer and Strategy Analyst

Department Overview

The Design & Tools team, a strategic component of Centralized Managed Support Operations (CMSO), is tasked with delivering exceptional service design and innovative technology solutions. These solutions serve to enable and empower support teams to consistently meet and exceed customer expectations.

Job Description

You will be a key contributor to the design, development, and testing of web applications, working with senior resources to optimize and streamline the CMSO Career Path toolan interactive platform for employee professional growth. This role involves close collaboration with the Design & Tools Front Office on business priorities and the Global Training & Development team.

While 80% of your time will be dedicated to coding a robust, scalable application, the remaining 20% is allocated to product strategy. You will collaborate directly with key stakeholders, gather essential user feedback, and analyze business objectives to define the future direction of our Customer Care tools roadmap. This opportunity is ideal for developers who desire a significant voice in shaping product roadmaps and value a deep, strategic understanding of our overall Customer Care vision.

Responsibilities

Engineering & Development (Approx. 80%)

Build the Tool: Design, code, and deploy the Career Path Tool ensuring a responsive and intuitive user experience.

Data Visualization: Implement interactive UI components (e.g., progression trees, competency graphs) that make career data easy to understand.

Full-Stack Implementation: Manage the database schema for roles/skills and build the APIs that power the frontend.

Quality Assurance: Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code for both the client and server sides. Test applications for functionality, performance, and security.

Analysis & Strategy (Approx. 20%)

Collaboration: with product managers and designers to define and implement new features and senior developers on troubleshooting and debugging.

User Feedback Loops: Conduct feedback sessions with end-users to identify friction points and usability issues.

Prioritization: Help translate business objectives into technical requirements. You will help us decide which features bring the highest value and should be built first.

Metric Tracking: Analyze usage data to see how our tools are being used and suggest improvements based on real-world evidence.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Proven experience as a full stack developer or similar role.

Strong proficiency in both front-end and back-end programming languages and frameworks.

Expertise in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Experience with a modern JavaScript framework like React, Angular, or Vue.js.

Familiarity with back-end languages such as Node.js, Python, Ruby, or Java.

Knowledge of common database systems

Understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices.

Experience with version control systems, Git.

Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Strong technical acumen and ability to engage in detailed discussions with engineering teams.

Ability to balance business perspectives with technical acumen.

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrates a forward-thinking approach by designing scalable solutions and considering implications beyond the immediate task.

Proactively explores and integrates AI tools into the development process.
