Job Title: Solaris/Linux Senior Engineer
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Role Duration: 12 months (extendable)
Experience Required: 6–10 Years
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Solaris/Linux Senior Engineer to manage and support enterprise UNIX environments, with a primary focus on Solaris systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in system administration, clustering, and performance optimization, along with excellent troubleshooting and stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and support Solaris and Linux systems in a production environment
- Perform OS installation, patching, upgrades, and system maintenance
- Manage and support Solaris Cluster environments
- Handle filesystem management and system configurations
- Monitor system health and perform performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Participate in data center migration activities (preferred)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure system stability and availability
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of Solaris environment and UNIX/Linux systems
- Hands-on experience in Solaris administration and system upgrades
- Experience with Solaris Cluster and filesystem management
- Strong performance tuning and troubleshooting skills
- Understanding of enterprise infrastructure environments
Soft Skills:
- Strong stakeholder coordination and communication skills
- Fluent in English (written and verbal)
- Knowledge of Bahasa Melayu is an added advantage
- Good technical documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in data center migration projects
- Exposure to large-scale, mission-critical environments
