What We Do At Weir

We are a global leader in mining technology for a sustainable future. We help our customers extract the resources the world needs more efficiently and more sustainably. Our planet's future depends on the transition to renewable energy, and that transition can only happen with the metals and minerals our customers deliver. So, we work side by side with mines across the globe to move less rock, use less energy, use water wisely, and create less waste. Together, we drive the shift to smart, efficient, and more sustainable mining.

Make your impact

You'll play a key role in solving real-world challenges. You'll apply your skills to deliver results that matter whether that's through engineering, planning or customer support. You'll work with purpose, learn every day and help shape a more sustainable future.

What You'll Do

  • Architecture Ownership: Set and maintain the end-to-end architecture for the product(s) you support, covering operations, enhancements, and change delivery. Ensure architectural decisions improve stability, speed of delivery, and supportability in an Application Managed Services (AMS) environment. Success means delivering practical, sustainable solutions aligned with Weir's enterprise standards.
  • Solution Design & Integration: Lead solution design across a predominantly SAP landscape, ensuring consistent SAP-to-SAP and SAP-to-non SAP integration patterns. Drive alignment to middleware approaches like Mulesoft and SAP BTP CPI. Daily activities include designing solutions that meet security, performance, and resilience requirements.
  • S/4HANA Alignment: Act as a guardian of S/4HANA alignment by ensuring current fixes and enhancements do not hinder the future migration. Collaborate with enterprise architecture teams to maintain consistency with the target architecture. Success is measured by minimizing future migration pain and supporting a clean core strategy.
  • Governance & Standards: Ensure compliance with Weir policies and architecture governance while enabling delivery pace. Represent delivery teams at governance boards as needed and promote consistent use of standard tooling and documentation practices.
  • AMS Operational Excellence: Design for production realities including monitoring, alerting, logging, and support handover. Maintain up-to-date operational documentation and drive improvements to reduce incident volumes and speed recovery.
  • Release & Change Management: Collaborate with teams to ensure safe change flow through environments, respecting constraints like freeze windows and environment alignment.
  • Quality Engineering & Automation: Promote shift left quality practices and automation, including automated regression and integration testing. Use metrics to improve release confidence and stabilize operations.
  • SAFe & Product Model Execution: Lead architecture runway work to enable smooth delivery flow. Support PI planning by clarifying technical scope, risks, and dependencies.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with Product Managers, business stakeholders, and delivery teams to translate business outcomes into clear, practical solutions. Engage external partners while retaining architectural accountability.
  • Risk Management & Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify technical and operational risks and drive mitigation plans. Build a continuous improvement pipeline targeting measurable outcomes such as stability and automation coverage.
  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.

What You'll Bring

Must-haves:

  • Extensive experience providing architectural leadership in SAP-led AMS environments, including SAP ECC and S/4HANA integration with non-SAP platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP Sales module and background in engineering/manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to define scalable, secure, and stable SAP architectures aligned with long-term S/4HANA roadmaps.
  • Experience delivering SAP solutions within a SAFe product model, including PI Planning and architecture runway management.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Prior experience working at Weir, familiar with company culture and processes.
  • SAFe Architect (v6) certification or equivalent SAP-centric SAFe architecture experience.
  • Additional certifications such as TOGAF, ArchiMate, SAFe SPC, SAFe Agilist, or Certified Scrum Master.
  • Experience supporting global rollout projects and working in multi-vendor environments.
