Summary

You will be responsible for assisting in the efficient operation of the Pastry Department in line with Hyatt International's Corporate Strategies and brand standards, while meeting the expectations of associates, guests, and owners. The Sous Chef - Pastry is responsible for supporting the Executive Pastry Chef in managing the pastry kitchen as a successful and profitable operation. This includes planning, organizing, directing, and overseeing daily pastry production and administrative functions, while ensuring the highest standards of quality, consistency, food safety, and presentation. The role also focuses on enhancing guest satisfaction, developing the pastry team, and driving operational excellence in accordance with Hyatt standards.

Qualifications

Due to work permit restrictions, this position is only open for Malaysian Citizens and Permanent Resident of Malaysia.
Ideally with an apprenticeship or professional diploma/degree in Culinary Education.
Minimum 2 years working experience as Sous Chef - Pastry or 4 years as Chef de Partie - Pastry in international hotel or F&B establishments are preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge of kitchen hygiene practices and occupational health and safety standards will be essential.
Proficient in general computer knowledge, strong organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills are essential.
